Interpretation of (different) Tongues
Have you ever wonder what people were speaking in tongues. You might have that gift. We would invite you to Read this. You have an idea what that was.
Interpretation of tongues is reveling the meaning of a diverse tongue. This will not be direct translation (one to one translation) of what a person speaks from diverse tongue but a spiritual translation (translation of the meaning) of the diverse tongue. This doesn’t operate out of the mind but out of the spirit. It is important to remember that who receives the interpretation of tongues may not understand the language that he/she is interpreting. But using the gift that person will be able to interpret the meaning of the words (or utterance) spoken by diverse tongue. There may be situations that diverse tongue time interval may be long and interpretation may be short and vice versa.
Paul encourages those who have gift of Tongues should ask for interpretation as well for the sake of build the church.
For this reason the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say. (I Corr 14:13)
Same person can use the gift in his private prayers as well.
This is how Paul says the importance of the interpretation specially in Church.
I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. (1 Corr 14:18-19)
This gift is considered as Inspirational or Vocal Gift.
