Let us join the shout of joy
Let us join the shout of joy
Acts 8:1-8; Psalm 66:1-7; John 6:35-40

After they killed Stephen, they started a severe persecution against the church. Believers scattered. They must have got the attention of the people in those areas. Apostles started preaching the good news to them. The action of the other believers must have preached them too. Their forgiveness to the persecutors, their calmness in the midst of the troubles, their obedience to the leaders must have talked loudly to the surrounding people. The Church began to grow.
The Lord who parted the sea for His people to cross to the promised land, who did wonders to liberate them from slavery is more than capable of saving His people, the people who gather around Him to worship. But sometimes He let disasters happen in order to open the doors more for His people for more opportunities, while taking care of the affected people and opening the door of the Promised Land for some of them. That is why all the earth could shout to Him with joy and praise His name.
It was the promise of Jesus that each and every one given to him by the Father would come to him and nobody would be lost. There is no reason for us who are satisfied with his body and blood to look the other way rather than obeying him, because everything we need is within us.
