Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." The Pharisees could not see this light which was in front of their eyes, because they did not follow Jesus. Instead, the kept on harassing Jesus. They questioned Jesus not to know the truth, but to find a reason to bury the truth which was bothering them.
Jesus was not bothered with the continuous harassment of the Jewish leaders. He was at peace because he knew where he came from, what he came for and by whom he was sent. Jesus knew that the Father who sent him will look after him like a shepherd looks after his sheep.
It was that knowledge that helped Jesus keep faithful to his mission, even when God who sent Daniel to rescue Susanna who was unjustly accused and condemned to death, did not take action to rescue him from the hands of the Jews. He had a mission to fulfill.
We can stay calm in our problems and disasters if we know the Father who sent us, and what the purpose of our life is. The best help we have is the Holy Spirit within us, who can reveal to us the heart of the Father.
