According to the first sentence of the yesterday’s Gospel reading Jesus was continuing to talk to the ordinary people, those who had believed in him. Then why he was making them more and more confused up to the point they picked up stones to throw at him?
Jesus has arrived at the last few days of his life in this world. Maybe he wanted to give to the people a glimpse of who he is but not up to the point they accept him as the promised messiah before the appointed time, and upset the Father’s plan for him. I wonder if many of these people who were arguing with Jesus were among the five thousand who believed and were baptized after getting the puzzle solved in listening to the apostles filled with the Holy Spirit.
When we hear confusing messages about Jesus and of God, let us not harden our hearts but pray for the help of the Holy Spirit to make them clear for us, before jumping at them or refusing them. May be God is planning for us to think of Him more deeply.
God made Abram, Abraham , father of a multitude of nations when he was 100 years old and childless.
