If anyone tries to remove snow with a lawn mower, not only will the snow not be removed but the lawn mower will get damaged. We are created to love. We are created in the image of God, who is love. If we start to hate each other, if we start to compete with each other, we and the whole society will be ruined. Isn’t that what has happened to our society and our world?
Jesus came to change this trend. He wanted to change us back to our original image of God. Therefore, Jesus taught us to love. He loved us with the love of the Father. Even now, Jesus invites us to imitate him to the point to love even our enemies and those who hate us. “LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I LOVED YOU”
As Jesus mentioned in today’s Gospel, he did not come because we invited him. We were already engaged in hate and competition and have forgotten God, let alone invite Him. Jesus came on his own. He came to raise us to the original form and share the joy of loving and being loved, with us. When we love God and love each other, whatever we ask will agree with the heart of God and we will receive it without fail.
