Faithful and & Trustworthy God
Faithful and & Trustworthy God
Genesis 15:1-12,17-18; Psalm 105:1-9; Matthew 7:15-20

It is not easy to trust God all the time. Especially when things are happening against our expectations and when we do not see any sign that our needs are being fulfilled, we start to doubt. In addition to that, what we hear all the time is things against our faith. Abraham started to doubt too when he did not have a child even at the age of 100. Luckily, without listening to others, he questioned God directly. God said, "Fear not, Abram! I am your shield; I will make your reward very great." Since Abraham had a very close relationship with God and because he could remember what God did to him from the time he was called, Abraham could trust God.
In order to stay firm in faith in the midst of the preaching of the false prophets, and to identify the wolves in sheep's clothing, we should have a good memory of what God has done in our lives and also how faithful He has been to mankind from the beginning. The best way is to read the Bible. Holy Scripture keeps on reminding us who God is and how faithful He is.
As the Psalm explains God is faithful and is powerful enough to fulfill His promises. He does not have to hide or lie. We can always rejoice under His protection.
