Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Gift of Knowledge (Utterance of Knowledge)
Gift of Knowledge (Utterance of Knowledge)
Have your faith shaken at least one day? Sure have mine. Have you ever though God never exist. We have gone through that. God knew you will have that problem. That is why he has this GIFT.
This is what St Thomas Aquinas says about this gift
Our ideas about God, even when true, are not the same as God himself. This is why a particular Gift is needed for dealing with them here and now. Knowledge provides a means by which we can conform our beliefs to the truth of Faith, thus bringing us confidence and certainty in questions that concern the practical and theoretical judgments of religion.
When he continues he says ignorance has never left us. It is not entirely removed from us. Time by time it haunts us. That is where we doubt our faith, we come to reject God and we were being misled. Reason he explain is we always want theoretical and practical knowledge.
Spirit’s Gift of Knowledge is both theoretical and practical at the same time and this will answer the situations we faced in day today activities by shaken our faith.
Main fruit of the Gift of Knowledge can be consider as to pass a right judgment about created things so as to purify and perfect our relationship with God.
There will be another side of this. Word of knowledge. We all have heard it.
A word of knowledge is a definite conviction, impression, or knowing that comes to a person in a picture, a dream, through a vision, or by a Scripture that is quickened to that person. It is supernatural insight or understanding of circumstances, situations, problems, or a body of facts by revelation; that is, without assistance by any human resource but solely by divine aid.
Gift of the word of knowledge is the transcendental revelation of the divine will and plan of God. It involves moral wisdom for right living and relationships, requires objective understanding concerning divine things in human duties, and refers to knowledge of God or of the things that belong to God, as related in the Gospel.
The gifts of the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge function together; knowledge is raw material and wisdom builds on it.
Where in the Bible this was Quoted
Noah building the Ark. (Genesis 6:14-22)
Joshua knowing about Achan's sin (Joshua 7:10-11)
Elisha knowing that Gehazi lied to Naaman. (II Kings 5:20-27)
