Eleventh Station - Jesus is crucified
(Where is our Trust)
(Where is our Trust)
Scripture Reading
And they crucified him, and divided his clothes among them, casting lots to decide what each should take. It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him. The inscription of the charge against him read: “The King of the Jews”. And with him they crucified two thieves, one on his right and one on his left. And the Scripture was fulfilled that says: “And he was counted among the lawless” (Mk 15:24-28).

Reflection
We will set our eyes on to what happened in Golgotha. The executioners are busy at their work. They did not allow him to rest long. They placed him on the cross so that they might nail him to it. Then seizing his right arm they nailed Him to the cross. This is the very hand, which had always been open to bestow blessings and favors on the ungrateful people like us. Now a big nail is passing through this blessed hand. The very same was done for His left hand and next His feet. When the crucifixion of Jesus was finished, the commander of the Roman soldiers ordered Pilate’s inscription to be nailed on the top of the cross. Now he is between two thieves.
My Sweet Jesus, I see you on the cross between two thieves. You cannot move an inch. Every movement is painful. I see your mother and the disciple you loved the most are at the bottom of the cross. Did you ever expect this kind of a death?
My Sweet Jesus,Pilate’s inscription says you are the King of Jews. He asked you whether you are a king? In the wilderness, when you are tempted, Satan asked “If you are king....?”At this last moment one thief asked you “If you are a king save yourself and save us too.” Isn’t this the very same question we ask you when we struggle? “Jesus where are you? Don’t you see me struggling with my problems, with the crosses you have given me?”
Jesus Speaks
My son, my daughter, this is where you have to understand me clearly and carefully. When you struggle I am with you. When you weep I weep with you. When you call I hear you. Read the statement of the other thief. “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”. Is he not accepting me? When you are in a struggle and ask,‘where are you Jesus’, aren’t you demanding a miracle? I understand you are broken and miserable as the thief at my left hand. But where is your acceptance? When you do not accept me, which means you do not trust me. You are crucifying me again and again. It hurts my son and daughter. What more should I do to earn your trust? Anyway, l still forgive you because you don’t know what you are doing.
Personnel Reflection
My Sweet Jesus, Thank you for your forgiveness. Grant me the grace to accept you in every circumstances.
