Tenth Station - Jesus is stripped of his garments
(Unity and Dignity)
(Unity and Dignity)
Scripture Reading
When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier. They also took his tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top. So they said to one another: “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it”. This was to fulfill what the Scripture says: “They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my tunic they cast lots”. And that is what the soldiers did (Jn 19:23-24).

Reflection
We will set our eyes on this station for a moment. Jesus has just completed a very steep and a rough road between the walls of the town and Calvary with greatest difficulty, walking with his heavy burden on his shoulders. He has just reached the place of execution. Executions are in a hurry to finish their Job. They are far from feeling the slightest compassion, or giving the least assistance. Instead of that they want to remove the last obstacle for the crucifixion, His garments. The executioners soon pulled off Jesus’ cloak, the belt to which the ropes were fastened. It was hard to pull the garment since it was sticking to his wounded body with his sweat and blood. Then they tore off the most painful crown, thus reopening every wound, and seizing the garment, tore it mercilessly over his bleeding and wounded head. Now he was so weakened from suffering and loss of blood that he could not support himself for more than a few moments. However he didn’t utter a word. The executioners did not allow him to rest long, but place him on the cross, so that they might nail him to it.
My Sweet Jesus, what was going in your mind when they were doing this? Now you don’t own anything, even the cross that you are about to crucify is not yours, but your Father created this whole world. What was actually going in your mind?
Jesus Speaks
My Son / My Daughter, Yes my executioners were able to undress my human body but my spirit was fully dressed with pure white and was beside my Father. Yes clothing was one of the basic rights of a human. I have sacrificed that too. Don’t look at the surface. Look deeper. How many times have you undressed other people? When you take something that does not belong to you, you are undressing that person who it belongs to. That is the 8th Commandment. Think about the times that you have submitted an official claim or tax return. How many times have you changed the figures and submitted it? , or you have added additional expenses and submitted it in order to obtain additional money to your pocket? Can you genuinely say that this money belong to me completely? Then you have stolen from somebody who this money really belongs. You have undressed that person. There are so many rackets in the world today, when submitting any kind of claim, transferring money, etc. If you are involved or practiced any of these, the devil is using you to undress other people, the very same way that my executioners undressed me. The only difference is that your execution is not direct. Still other people are suffering from these actions.
My Son / Daughter, give them some dignity. Do not undress them. They are your brothers and sisters.
That is one part. Remember my tunic was in one piece. You know what that symbolizes, Unity;Unity of the church that I have created. I have one plea from you. Please pray for the unity of the church.
Personnel Reflection
Jesus, thank you for giving me a chance to look into deeper places in my heart. Have I taken anything from anybody? Have I used any ungodly ways when submitting my Benefit Claims, Taxes, Auto Claims or any other claims? Have I done any fraudulent transactions?
